They offer 85 kobo/SMS, then charge you 1.7 units for 1 SMS. Invariably, you are paying (1.7units x 85 kobo) = N1.45…but you hardly notice this.
They use cheap Indian/china SMS gateways with backdoor delivery. This SMS has about 60% delivery rate and to cover their tracks, they do not have delivery reports on their platform stating the delivery status for EACH Message. They mostly use “sent messages” as cover up.
Fake delivery reports.
Before using a new bulk SMS platform, test the delivery report by sending a message to yourself. Check the delivery report for the status (delivered). Then switch off your phone and send another SMS to yourself again and check the status again. If it says delivered, it is fake. If it just says “sent”…it is not good enough. If it says “pending”, check again after 10 minutes.
